Kathy Schmidt
Kathy, shown here with her horse, Snickers, has been helping and boarding at Freedom Farm since 2003, when she first came to Mary for help with her rescued horse, Hazelnut. She has a life-long passion for horses, and is an enthusiastic student of natural horsemanship. Kathy enjoys attending clinics at the farm and going on long trail rides.
A second grade teacher by day, Kathy and her husband, Steve, are at the farm most evenings and weekends, feeding and cleaning-up after horses. Kathy has taken on many roles at the farm and generously does whatever is needed to help out in various capacities. Steve especially enjoys "spoiling" some of the older horses by taking the time to give them an extra brushing or a special treat.
